We are seeking a Middle Atlassian Platform Administrator to join our software engineering group and lead complex migrations from Jira Server to Jira Cloud.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute end-to-end migrations from Jira Server to Jira Cloud
Analyze existing Jira configurations including projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, and screens
Identify migration risks, dependencies, and data limitations
Use Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant and third-party tools for data transition
Migrate Jira Software, Service Management, and Jira Work Management projects
Transfer issues, attachments, comments, custom fields, users, groups, and permissions
Perform data validation and reconciliation after migration
Troubleshoot migration errors and resolve data inconsistencies
Optimize Jira Cloud configurations according to best practices
Configure Jira Cloud projects, workflows, permissions, and automation rules
Manage users, groups, access control, and SSO integrations
Coordinate app migration and replacement with Cloud-compatible apps
Maintain documentation of migration steps, configurations, and decisions
Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and priorities
Support user acceptance testing for migrated systems

Requirements

3+ years experience as a Jira Administrator
Hands-on experience with Jira Server and Jira Cloud platforms
Proven experience migrating Jira projects from Data Center or Server to Cloud
Deep understanding of workflows, schemes, custom fields, and permissions
Knowledge of Jira Software and Jira Service Management
Experience with Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant
Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace apps and Cloud compatibility
Basic scripting or automation skills using Automation for Jira or REST APIs
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder needs
Comfortable working independently and making migration decisions
English language proficiency B2 – Upper Intermediate

Nice to have

Experience with third-party migration tools
Knowledge of SSO integration best practices
Experience with Cloud-specific app optimization
Familiarity with user acceptance testing processes
