We are looking for a Lead UI Technical Designer to help bring a AAA fighting game UI to life in Unreal Engine 5, bridging UX, art, design, and engineering from pre-production into production. You will prototype, iterate, and define scalable UI implementation patterns as the UI direction evolves.

Responsibilities
  • Implement UI screens, flows, widgets, animations, and interaction behaviors in Unreal Engine 5
  • Translate UX flows, wireframes, Figma designs, HTML prototypes, and documentation into functional in-engine UI
  • Partner with UI Engineers to define technically sound, scalable, and reusable UI structures
  • Integrate and polish UI art assets in-engine in collaboration with UI Artists
  • Prototype and refine frontend and in-match UI experiences through rapid iteration
  • Build and maintain UI prefabs, widgets, layouts, animation states, and interaction prototypes
  • Implement UI motion using UMG, Sequencer, materials, and Blueprint-driven workflows
  • Support 2D UI implementation, including 3D-anchored 2D-rendered gameplay UI elements
  • Validate UI across mobile-centric and multi-platform experiences
  • Align UI animations and feedback with sound and VFX teams to match the overall game style
  • Document implementation details, edge cases, interaction rules, and dependencies for production handoff
  • Contribute to seasonal updates, publishing tasks, and live-service UI iteration
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience implementing game UI in Unreal Engine
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
  • Strong experience with UMG and Blueprint-based UI workflows
  • Lead-level ability to partner with UX, art, and engineering to deliver scalable UI structures
  • Strong project execution skills to support production handoff, documentation, and dependency tracking
  • Advanced UI layout and interaction design knowledge, including responsive behavior
  • Strong UI motion and animation timing understanding for expressive but functional interfaces
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across UX, art, engineering, design, production, VFX, and sound
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
Nice to have
  • Experience with UE5 CommonUI
  • Experience on AAA or live-service games, including fighting, action, multiplayer, or competitive titles
  • Experience with HTML prototypes or hybrid design-to-engine prototyping workflows
  • Experience implementing UI animations using Sequencer and materials
  • Familiarity with approved AI-assisted tools for prototyping, documentation, or production acceleration
