We are seeking an experienced Lead Test Automation Engineer to join our Client's Digital Transformation program. The Client is one of the world's largest reinsurance companies.
You will work on the AI-Hub application as a Lead Test Automation Engineer within a SCRUM team. The AI Hub is a cloud-based SaaS service consumable via APIs by other products. It aims to enable different capabilities accelerated by AI and to be consumed by other digital products to enrich their market offering. This is a technical leadership role combining strategic quality ownership with hands-on automation engineering, focused on AI and GenAI-powered products.
Responsibilities
- Define testing strategies and quality gates for new products incorporating AI/ML and GenAI components
- Design, build, and maintain automation test suites across frontend (web application, Angular) and backend (Python, REST) layers
- Create test scenarios and scripts from use cases, requirements, and application functionality; drive defects to closure and maintain suites across releases
- Design and evolve AI-augmented automation frameworks; evaluate emerging Gen AI tooling for testing applicability
- Plan and execute performance testing (load, stress, scalability) for production services; set baselines and regression gates
- Apply coding agents day-to-day to accelerate test-framework authoring and maintenance
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure rapid, reliable quality feedback
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (developers, product owners, architects) in Agile delivery mode
- Provide quality insights, technical leadership, and mentorship to team members on best practices
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Test Automation Engineering and Software Quality
- Experience defining testing strategies for products with AI/ML or GenAI components
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Python, pytest, REST, and test automation frameworks
- Backend and API testing (REST API, Python-based tooling — requests / httpx or equivalent) — data validation, integration, and E2E
- Frontend web application test automation (Playwright, Selenium)
- Strong working knowledge of SQL (or NoSQL) databases and query writing
- API tooling proficiency (Postman, Bruno)
- Hands-on daily use of coding agents and agentic development workflows
- Performance testing (load, stress, scalability) — designing test plans, setting baselines, and integrating performance gates into CI/CD
- Agile delivery experience (SCRUM)
- Experience with Git and Azure DevOps (or JIRA)
- Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving approach
- Good communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills across a global team
Nice to have
- Quality-gate experience in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / Jenkins)
- Domain knowledge of underwriting or Life & Health insurance
