We are seeking a Lead Firmware Engineer (Embedded C) to lead a vendor-managed service team supporting EFI Diagnostics development and new product introduction factory work, based on-site at a client office in Shanghai. You will own quality and delivery, coach and onboard engineers, manage day-to-day prioritization and serve as the primary contact and first escalation point for the client.

Responsibilities
  • Own team deliverables and quality across diagnostics development and factory support work
  • Plan day-to-day execution including task breakdown, resource assignment and scheduling
  • Onboard, train and coach team members through regular check-ins and feedback
  • Triage incoming escalations, drive resolution and coordinate next steps with the client
  • Review issue handling across the team and remove blockers to protect build readiness
  • Produce a weekly summary report covering progress, risks, priorities and escalations
  • Gather feedback from cross-functional stakeholders and translate it into team actions
  • Support quarterly checkpoints with the client, focusing on delivery quality and improvements
Requirements
  • Relevant lead-level experience owning delivery quality for an engineering team or workstream
  • Hands-on experience with low-level firmware development in Embedded C and hardware interaction
  • Scripting skills in Python or Lua for test automation or diagnostics workflows
  • Program delivery capability including planning, prioritization, tracking and escalation management
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English for day-to-day stakeholder communication
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to drive issues to closure and keep work moving
  • Multitasking ability to manage frequent context switching in a build environment
  • Problem-solving strength with structured debugging and clear decision-making
Nice to have
  • Exposure to Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and EDK II (EDK2)
  • Familiarity with Git or other source control systems
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, factory build teams or NPI stakeholders
