We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join and strengthen our Quality Engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans and test cases while ensuring alignment with product management and development timelines. This role requires expertise in manual and automated testing as part of a consolidated strategy and involves collaboration with Software Development, DevOps, and Product & Project Management teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed test plans, test cases, and project timelines
- Coordinate testing efforts to align with timelines from Product Management and Development teams
- Design and implement manual and automated test scripts to ensure full system validation
- Create test strategies that cover product requirements, new features, enhancements, and defect solutions
- Apply best practices in quality assurance at every stage of the product development lifecycle
- Collaborate with DevOps and Software Development teams to uphold quality benchmarks
- Analyze and enhance test cases, assertions, and automation scripts stored in repositories
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality web applications for internal and external purposes
- Conduct performance, load, and API testing to validate system reliability and scalability
- Leverage tools like Playwright, Postman, Jira, and K6 to achieve comprehensive testing coverage
- Set up and maintain local environments needed for effective development and testing workflows
- Actively contribute within Agile/Scrum teams to foster collaboration and successful delivery
Requirements
- Background in quality engineering with at least 5 years of practical experience
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or team management role
- Qualifications in managing code repositories using Git
- Proficiency in building automated testing frameworks with tools like Playwright
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, including Azure Test Plans and Pipelines integration
- Skills in Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL for testing and debugging tasks
- Expertise in API testing and resolution using tools like Postman
- Experience in conducting performance tests with tools such as K6
- Understanding of issue tracking systems like Jira for defect resolution and management
- Competency in continuous integration pipelines and code coverage tools
- In-depth understanding of interactions between front-end and back-end systems
- Capability to identify and resolve complex technical issues effectively
Nice to have
- Understanding of performance and load testing for web applications using tools like JMeter
