This position involves supervising revenue accounting transactions, general ledger postings, intricate contract analysis, and steering month-end close activities. You will head accounting operations for the LATAM region while operating in a global financial environment aligned with international financial reporting standards.
You will play a key role in our Revenue Accounting team, spearheading collaboration with colleagues across various countries, mentoring team members, and assuming ownership of region-specific accounting processes and transactions.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage GL entries, including revenue, accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Lead the review of complex client contracts and validate financial terms to determine the appropriate accounting treatment
- Oversee invoice issuance and the recording of related accounting entries in accordance with client contracts
- Drive month-end close procedures and ensure timely delivery of results
- Act as the primary point of contact for annual and interim audit requests
- Serve as a senior liaison with customers and business stakeholders via email or telephone
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of accounting records and supporting documentation
- Coordinate and align regional and local teams on LATAM-specific invoicing and accounting documentation requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Background in accounting or finance spanning 5+ years
- Relevant leadership experience of at least 1 year
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including formulas and pivot tables
- Showcase of the ability to take ownership of end-to-end accounting processes
- Competency in written and spoken English at an excellent level (B2+)
- Skills in Spanish suitable for daily work within the LATAM region
Nice to have
- Understanding of local invoicing and accounting documentation requirements in Latin American countries
- Capability to quickly grasp new processes, adopt new tools, and share knowledge with the team
- Expertise in organization, leadership, and multitasking, with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- Familiarity with IFRS and/or US GAAP
- Flexibility to use SAP or another ERP system in a hands-on capacity
- Background in a multinational company or shared services environment
- Proficiency in mentoring or leading accounting professionals
