We are looking for a Lead Python Engineer to own GitHub Enterprise administration, governance, and reporting across an organization-wide setup. You will build Python automation around GitHub data, support audit requests, and improve developer workflows while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities
  • Administer GitHub Enterprise organizations, teams, repositories, and access controls
  • Define and enforce Git governance, workflows, and repository best practices
  • Manage GitHub Copilot models and licenses including configuration, governance, and budgeting
  • Build Python scripts to extract, process, and maintain GitHub operational data
  • Implement reporting pipelines using BigQuery and enable visualization for stakeholders
  • Coordinate audit support by providing evidence, documentation, and timely responses
  • Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to improve CI/CD integrations and developer experience
  • Support on-call rotation and troubleshoot urgent GitHub Enterprise issues as needed
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Python experience building operational automation
  • 5+ years of experience administering GitHub Enterprise at scale
  • Strong leadership skills to drive governance and best practices across teams
  • Proven project ownership skills for delivering reliable reporting and automation
  • Expert GitHub API skills for data extraction and workflow automation
  • Strong Git operations skills including branching strategies and access controls
  • Clear communication skills for cross-team coordination and audit support
  • Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)
Nice to have
  • Google Cloud Platform experience supporting data and platform integrations
  • BigQuery experience building datasets and operational reporting
  • Kubernetes familiarity for platform or tooling integrations
  • Terraform experience managing infrastructure-as-code for platform services
  • Ansible experience automating configuration tasks
