We are searching for a committed Lead Python Engineer to join our team.
This role focuses on enhancing cloud infrastructure, automation pipelines, and engineering approaches within an AWS-driven environment. The opportunity allows you to drive impactful migrations, contribute to AI-enabled engineering enhancements, and help shape secure, scalable platform foundations.
Responsibilities
- Operate inside a spec-driven software development lifecycle
- Create AI-driven improvements for design, delivery, and triage workflows
- Review emerging tools and solutions as potential additions to enterprise-level AI enablement offerings
- Plan, build, and support AWS Lambda services and API Gateway endpoints using Python and boto3
- Drive the CI/CD shift from legacy cicd-functions pipelines toward GitHub Actions workflows
- Manage infrastructure as code primarily through Terraform, supplemented by Serverless frameworks
- Execute brownfield refactors, service decommissions, and migrations, such as OAuth migrations, WAF block-mode deployments, and Mythos SAST/SCA fixes
- Define and refine AWS WAF rules while resolving security findings raised by SAST and SCA tooling
- Optimize operational workflows and contribute to agentic platform initiatives, where familiarity with n8n, LangChain, or similar orchestration tools is considered a plus
- Collaborate with the SRE Consultant on telemetry gaps and Lambda-based data collection automation
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
- At least one year of experience leading and overseeing development teams
- Python development background centered on AWS Lambda and API Gateway in production environments
- Solid proficiency with boto3 across services including IAM, Secrets Manager, SSM, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and WAF
- Hands-on Terraform skills for production-grade infrastructure as code, including writing, refactoring, and reviewing modules
- Functional experience with the Serverless Framework, including maintaining and migrating legacy stacks
- Practical authoring of CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, with readiness to lead a cicd-functions to GHA migration
- Experience setting up AWS WAF rules, activating block mode, and supporting incident response activities
- Familiarity with security tools such as SAST and SCA, alongside exposure to a structured compliance framework
- Brownfield mindset with a clear track record of migrations, decommissions, and refactors rather than greenfield projects
- Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills (B2+ level or higher)
Nice to have
- Experience integrating internal and external systems through REST APIs, including approaches like ServiceNow OAuth client credentials flows
- Familiarity with Snowflake for cloud data warehousing, analytics, and data platform integration
