We are seeking a dedicated Lead Python Engineer to become part of our team.
This role centers on advancing cloud infrastructure, automation workflows, and engineering practices within an AWS-focused setting. The position provides the chance to lead meaningful migrations, support AI-enabled engineering improvements, and help establish secure, scalable platform foundations.
Responsibilities
- Work within a spec-driven software development lifecycle
- Build AI-powered improvements for design, delivery, and triage processes
- Evaluate new tools and solutions as possible candidates for enterprise-level AI enablement offerings
- Architect, develop, and maintain AWS Lambda services and API Gateway endpoints with Python and boto3
- Spearhead the CI/CD transition from legacy cicd-functions pipelines to GitHub Actions workflows
- Oversee infrastructure as code through Terraform as the main tool, complemented by Serverless frameworks
- Perform brownfield refactors, service retirements, and migrations, including OAuth migrations, WAF block-mode rollouts, and Mythos SAST/SCA remediations
- Set up and tune AWS WAF rules while addressing security issues identified by SAST and SCA tooling
- Streamline operational workflows and support agentic platform efforts, with familiarity with tools like n8n, LangChain, or comparable orchestration solutions seen as an advantage
- Work alongside the SRE Consultant on telemetry gaps and Lambda-driven data collection automation
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant professional background
- A minimum of one year guiding and managing development teams
- Python development expertise focused on AWS Lambda and API Gateway in production settings
- Strong command of boto3 across services such as IAM, Secrets Manager, SSM, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and WAF
- Practical Terraform experience for production-grade infrastructure as code, covering authoring, refactoring, and reviewing modules
- Working knowledge of the Serverless Framework, including supporting and migrating legacy stacks
- Hands-on creation of CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, with confidence in leading a cicd-functions to GHA transition
- Background in configuring AWS WAF rules, switching on block mode, and assisting with incident response
- Knowledge of security tooling like SAST and SCA, plus exposure to a structured compliance program
- Brownfield orientation with a demonstrated history of migrations, decommissions, and refactors rather than greenfield builds
- Excellent spoken and written English communication abilities (B2+ level or higher)
Nice to have
- Background in connecting internal and third-party systems via REST APIs, including patterns such as ServiceNow OAuth client credentials flows
- Knowledge of Snowflake for cloud data warehousing, analytics, and data platform integration
