We're on the lookout for a Lead Python Developer who brings deep, hands-on technical experience to enhance our engineering organization. Responsibilities
- Shape backend API architecture and orchestration systems that support connectivity with large language models
- Build out and sustain sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) processes, including document handling, text chunking, embedding production, and enhanced retrieval methods
- Develop and link together agent-based tools using frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph, applying Model Context Protocol (MCP) where suitable
- Maintain rigorous security standards, safeguard data privacy, ensure enterprise-level observability, and deliver comprehensive testing across all backend functions
- Contribute directly to architectural decision-making and help define technical standards for the engineering team
- Coordinate with frontend developers, data engineering staff, and infrastructure professionals to produce cohesive, integrated outcomes
Requirements
- Five-plus years of practical experience in backend engineering, emphasizing microservices and distributed systems design
- One or more years spent guiding and managing engineering teams
- Solid track record leveraging Python for building high-performance backend infrastructure and cloud-native API solutions
- Hands-on background developing applications built on Generative AI technology
- Working experience with LangChain for creating applications driven by language models
- Working knowledge spanning AWS, Docker, container orchestration solutions such as ECS/EKS, and RESTful API architecture
- Firm understanding of secure development practices combined with strong authentication and authorization capabilities
- Adequate English communication skills at B2 proficiency or above, supporting clear comprehension of business needs and their translation into agent-focused technical solutions
Nice to have
- Hands-on background with agent-based frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph
- Working knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) supporting uniform context sharing among AI systems
- Comfortable handling frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript
- Experience utilizing Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure
- Direct experience with RAG pipeline components, including vector database tools like Amazon Kendra or OpenSearch, along with embedding approaches and retrieval system building
- Background either building fresh systems or updating existing large-scale, complex technical environments
