We are seeking an experienced remote Lead Python Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead a team working on a new AI-based feature initiative, focusing on updating the existing suite of microservices, writing new ones, and adding new APIs. You will be responsible for driving the software development life cycle processes and continuously improving them. As the Lead Python Engineer, you will lead the team on a day-to-day basis, mentor and upskill the team, and collaborate with other teams to develop and integrate new services into existing ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python-based microservices
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs using FastAPI
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and integrate new services into existing ecosystems
- Work on Amazon SageMaker endpoints and OpenSearch performance optimization
- Lead the team on a day-to-day basis
- Drive SDLC processes and continuous improvements
- Mentor and upskill the team
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Python developing
- 1+ years of relevant leadership experience
- Excellent communicational and organizational skills
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs using FastAPI
- Expertise in Amazon Web Services, including deploying and configuring servers, load balancers, and databases
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and SDLC processes
- B2+ English level proficiency
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Celery, Elasticsearch, and Pydantic
- Knowledge of Amazon SageMaker and OpenSearch
