We are looking for a Lead Project Finance Controller to act as the financial arm of the PMO on IT consulting projects, ensuring revenue recognition, billing accuracy, and strong margin control through resource allocation and timesheet analysis. You will partner closely with project managers in a fast-paced delivery environment—apply now to help keep projects financially healthy.
Responsibilities
- Own project budget tracking and monthly forecasting to maintain a consolidated financial model (revenue, cost, margin)
- Control day-to-day revenue recognition for projects, aligning contractual deliverables with the financial calendar
- Validate delivery evidence and reconcile recognized revenue with billing and backlog
- Coordinate and issue project billing, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing
- Monitor resource allocation and timesheets, identify variances, and quantify impacts on cost and margin
- Project cost-to-complete (ETC) based on current allocation and project schedule
- Flag financial risks to project managers and leadership with clear mitigation options
- Prepare periodic reports and support audits with complete project financial documentation
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in project financial controlling within IT consulting or IT services
- Strong leadership skills to influence PMs and support project governance decisions
- Proven project experience with schedules, milestones, timesheets, and resource allocation in consulting delivery
- Solid revenue recognition knowledge applied to projects (IFRS 15 / CPC 47)
- Advanced Excel skills for budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate allocation and timesheet data into cost and profitability insights
- Clear communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and project managers
- English proficiency: B2 (Upper-Intermediate)
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with SAP projects (preferably SAP ERP implementations)
- Experience in project controlling or project accounting roles
- Familiarity with project management tools used in consulting delivery
