EPAM's Financial Services Practice is seeking a Lead Java Software Engineer to become part of our elite engineering team. Our client base includes some of the globe's largest and most forward-thinking banks, investment banks, and wealth management firms.
Please note that working from the client's office is required 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Build robust Java-based applications and solutions for financial services clients
- Create REST APIs to support business requirements
- Utilize reactive programming principles to build responsive systems
- Design and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
- Incorporate NoSQL databases into application architecture
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
- Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable systems
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Java software development, with a focus on Java 8 & 9
- Experience with NoSQL databases, ideally with MongoDB
- Expertise in REST API implementation, ideally with JAX-RS
- Experience with reactive programming, ideally with RxJava
- Background in implementing unit tests
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience developing applications in fintech or established financial institutions
- Familiarity with microservice architectures
- Experience developing systems that can scale to large amounts of data
- Experience working in Agile Scrum
- Experience working on a globally distributed team
