Lead Java Developer with GCP Expertise

We're actively looking for a Lead Java Developer who is highly skilled and has expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This remote role is perfect for someone with a robust background in Java development and significant experience in GCP services such as DataFlow, BigQuery, and Kafka. Additional skills in Spring Boot 3, Elasticsearch, and GraphQL would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable Java-based applications on GCP
- Leading and contributing to the migration of current systems to GCP, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption
- Designing and implementing data processing pipelines using GCP DataFlow for real-time and batch processing
- Using Kafka to construct robust event-driven architectures and streaming applications
- Developing RESTful web services and GraphQL APIs to support a variety of client applications
- Integrating Elasticsearch for efficient indexing, search, and analysis of large datasets
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Java development, with a special focus on Java
- Proven history of leading and mentoring a team of engineers for a minimum of 1 year
- Comprehensive understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, with a focus on DataFlow, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub
- Experience with the Spring Boot 3 framework for building microservices and web applications
- Familiarity with Kafka for creating event-driven architectures and real-time data processing
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams
- Fluency in English at an upper-intermediate level or higher (B2+)
Nice to have
- Strong experience with GraphQL
- Proficiency in Elasticsearch for indexing and querying large volumes of data
