We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Developer to join our remote team, working with a leading retailer in the USA and Canada. As a Lead Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions. You will work with a team of developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality of software development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java and AWS services, as well as a solid understanding of DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of Nordstrom's various lines of business
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality of software development
- Evaluate designs and provide feedback to improve software development processes
- Identify performance issues and optimize software solutions
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals
- Provide on-call support and utilize Pager Duty for creating and updating support schedules
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software development issues
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java and related technologies
- 1+ years of relevant leadership experience
- Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Apache Kafka, including experience with AWS services such as Dynamo DB, ElasticCache, RDS, and Route 53
- Knowledge of UI technologies such as ReactJS, Typescript, or AngularJS
- Experience with Spring Boot and the Spring Framework, including Spring Data and Spring Security
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD tools and practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex software development issues
- Fluent spoken and written English at an upper-intermediate level or higher
