Lead Java Developer

Join our team as a Lead Java Developer and design and build fast, secure, scalable, and stable web systems for the largest online retailer of certified diamonds, engagement rings, and fine jewelry. At our company, we value adaptability, innovation, and resourcefulness, and we are looking for a candidate who can analyze complex problems, implement robust and maintainable solutions, integrate new technologies, and deliver high-quality systems on time and on budget. As a Lead Java Developer, you will provide technical leadership, mentor other developers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for the design and implementation of new features and next-generation software systems
  • Develop and deliver maintainable, scalable, stable, reliable, high-quality systems on time and on budget
  • Perform code and test plan reviews and take responsibility for the quality of released software
  • Learn quickly and apply new knowledge to solutions and mentor other developers
  • Mentor other developers
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong Java development background
  • 1+ year of relevant leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong command of Spring (Boot, MVC, and Security), AWS, ReactJS, Oracle PL/SQL, and Docker
  • Ability to design architecture, provide estimates, and deliver high-quality features to production
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like Handlebars, HTML5/CSS, and web services
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP, container ecosystems like Kubernetes, and DevOps tools like git, Ansible, Chef, Bamboo, and Jenkins
  • Experience with Scrum or other agile development processes
  • Fluent English language skills with an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
  • Experience with Oracle RDBMS, cloud development, machine learning, test-driven development, or Solr
  • Experience with Groovy and Spock
