Lead Java Developer

We are currently seeking a Lead Java Developer to join our team and work on a Jira system unification project. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing changes to unify Jira entities in the backend. You will need to be proactive in working through unknowns independently and troubleshooting, including reading logs and navigating Java code.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and test changes to unify Jira entities in the backend
  • Work proactively and independently to overcome unknowns and troubleshoot issues
  • Manage database change management and work with databases
  • Update the existing testing set and perform unit testing, end-to-end testing, and functional testing
  • Monitor and assess system performance
  • Overcome impediments and work with support engineers
  • Contribute to the knowledge base by adding or updating documentation and designs
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Java development
  • Expertise in Amazon Web Services and Spring Boot
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with AWS RDS/PostgreSQL and DynamoDb
  • Experience with reading logs and navigating Java code
  • Experience with database change management
  • Familiarity with performance and scalability concepts and experience monitoring system performance using tools such as Splunk
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English at an Upper-Intermediate level
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
Nice to have
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python or Ruby
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Certification in Java development or related fields
