We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Lead iOS Software Engineer to spearhead our mobile engineering team. In this position, you will own the technical strategy, architecture, and evolution of our native iOS applications, defining the engineering vision and standards for the whole platform. Working with a modern development stack built around Swift, you will design elegant, high-performing, and intuitive mobile experiences that delight our customers and scale with our business — while leading and developing a team of skilled iOS engineers.

You will serve as the primary technical authority for the iOS domain, partnering strategically with product managers, product designers (UX/UI), backend leads, and engineering management. You will guide the team through the entire delivery cycle — from initial concept and technical discovery to a successful launch on the Apple App Store — while shaping hiring, mentorship, and long-term platform direction.

Responsibilities
  • Define, architect, and evolve the technical vision for our native iOS applications using Swift, making high-impact decisions that shape the long-term direction of the platform
  • Establish, champion, and enforce best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns across the iOS codebase and the wider mobile organization
  • Drive technical roadmap planning for the iOS platform, balancing product needs, technical debt, scalability, and innovation
  • Collaborate closely with product designers to build responsive, pixel-perfect, and highly interactive user interfaces aligned with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG), while leading design discussions from a technical feasibility and platform-capability standpoint
  • Architect robust integrations with backend services and RESTful or GraphQL APIs, ensuring seamless, dynamic, and resilient user experiences
  • Set the standard for engineering quality: produce clean, modular, and maintainable code, lead code reviews, and ensure consistency and craftsmanship across the codebase
  • Establish comprehensive testing strategies, including unit and UI tests (using XCTest), to safeguard application stability. Drive continuous performance, memory, and battery optimization initiatives using Instruments
  • Own the application release lifecycle end-to-end, including build processes, certificate and provisioning management, and submissions via App Store Connect
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of iOS engineers — coaching senior, mid-level, and junior developers, conducting technical interviews, and cultivating a high-performing engineering culture
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and engineering leadership to influence product roadmaps, drive technical innovation, and align mobile strategy with wider business goals
Requirements
  • 5+ years of background in native iOS application development
  • 1+ years of experience leading teams and technical initiatives on production-grade apps
  • Expert-level proficiency in Swift and deep mastery of the iOS SDK and Apple developer tools (Xcode, Instruments)
  • Deep expertise in modern iOS architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, Clean Architecture, Combine, and Swift Concurrency), with a proven capability to define architecture at scale and justify decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong hands-on skills in SwiftUI (preferred) and UIKit (Auto Layout, Storyboards/XIBs)
  • Proven track record of establishing and owning CI/CD pipelines for iOS (e.g., Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, Bitrise) and managing the full release lifecycle via App Store Connect
  • Advanced proficiency in Git and leading collaborative workflows across distributed teams
  • Demonstrated leadership background — mentoring engineers, driving technical strategy, and delivering complex initiatives in an Agile/Scrum environment using tools like Jira
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the capability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
  • Experience contributing to hiring, performance reviews, and team growth is a strong plus
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
