Lead DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our remote team and take ownership of our Azure-based infrastructure and security implementations. You will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of talented engineers and security professionals. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Azure-based infrastructure and ensuring the security and compliance of our systems. You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of DevOps Engineers, driving innovation and efficiency in our processes and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring efficient and scalable infrastructure management
  • Ensure the security and compliance of our systems, collaborating with internal security teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps Engineers, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning within the group
  • Drive innovation and efficiency in our processes and practices, continuously evaluating industry trends and best practices to refine and implement the most effective DevOps strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in line with project goals and timelines
  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code principles and tools, specifically Terraform
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective, tailored solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and leadership skills
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience provisioning, configuring, and securing Azure solutions
  • Strong experience in scripting/automating and CI/CD in Azure environments
  • Expertise in deployment and functionality of container services, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Service
  • Experience with Azure security, specifically MS Defender for Cloud/CSPM, network/hub-and-spoke, NVAs/Palo Alto
  • Familiarity with WebApps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Virtual Machines, and databases/Cosmos DB, MS SQL
  • Working knowledge of integration with Salesforce preferred
  • Working experience or a very good understanding of cloud security, encryption, certificate management, and network security
  • Good understanding of operation management technologies, including log aggregation, server monitoring, process monitoring, and application monitoring, preferably with Azure Monitor or Datadog
  • Ability to create well-written documentation and procedures and create dashboards and reports to provide transparency and visibility for the results of strategic initiatives
  • Proven leadership experience
  • English language proficiency at an upper-intermediate level, enabling effective communication and collaboration with the team and stakeholders
Nice to have
  • Experience with other cloud platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge of other programming languages, such as Python or Go
  • Experience with other DevOps tools, such as Ansible or Chef
