Lead DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our remote team, working on an exciting project that involves the development and deployment of a cloud-based platform using Amazon Web Services. As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools required to support the project's development and deployment processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform meets high standards of reliability, scalability, and security. Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure and tools required to support the development and deployment processes of the cloud-based platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform meets high standards of reliability, scalability, and security
  • Develop and implement best practices for infrastructure management, including monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes using scripting languages and infrastructure as code tools
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to support the development and deployment of the platform
  • Manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, support, and feedback
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on AWS
  • Expertise in AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools like Helm
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, enabling you to manage infrastructure as software
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages, allowing you to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes
  • Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, allowing you to manage and mentor a team of DevOps engineers
  • Fluent spoken and written English at an upper-intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of other container orchestration tools such as Nomad or Mesos
  • Familiarity with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions
  • Experience in managing and optimizing databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
