Lead DevOps Engineer

A Lead DevOps Engineer specializing in Microsoft Azure is needed to augment our remote team.

The successful candidate will be at the helm of our DevOps unit to oversee all elements of the development operations pipeline, making sure to automate infrastructure deployment and institute continuous integration and delivery practices. A candidate with a seasoned background in DevOps, proficiency in Microsoft Azure, and an in-depth comprehension of container orchestration systems like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), along with deployment automation tools like Helm and Terraform, would be ideal. This role entails designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that lend support to our product offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the DevOps Engineers team to ensure effective management of all components of the development operations pipeline
  • Design and establishment of scalable, high-availability, and fault-tolerant systems on Microsoft Azure
  • Creation and maintenance of deployment automation tools using Helm and Terraform
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and adhere to high-quality standards
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to pinpoint and resolve technical issues and enhance system performance and reliability
  • Active engagement with Product and Engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Mentorship of other DevOps Engineers, contributing to the upskilling of technical capabilities across the organization
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in DevOps, focusing on Azure and container orchestration systems
  • No less than 1 year’s experience leading software development teams, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills
  • In-depth experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, and Python
  • Established experience in implementing and maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines
  • The ability to work independently and lead a team in a remote setting
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in harmony with cross-functional teams
  • English language fluency with at least an upper-intermediate level of proficiency for effective stakeholder communication
Nice to have
  • Prior experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack
  • Familiarity with additional containerization technologies such as Docker Swarm
