We're on the lookout for a skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join our remote team, focusing on Microsoft Azure.
In this role, the Lead DevOps Engineer will manage the DevOps team and oversee all elements of the development operations pipeline, including deployment automation and application of continuous integration and delivery practices. The ideal candidate is a mature DevOps Engineer proficient in Microsoft Azure with a solid comprehension of container orchestration systems like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and deployment automation tools such as Helm and Terraform. The role involves designing, executing, and preserving the infrastructure and tools supporting our product range.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing a team of DevOps Engineers to maintain all elements of the development operations pipeline, including deployment automation and application of continuous integration and delivery practices
- Designing and executing scalable, highly available, and fault-resistant systems on Microsoft Azure
- Creating and preserving deployment automation tools utilizing Helm and Terraform
- Offering technical leadership and advice to the team to guarantee scalable, maintainable solutions, delivered to high-quality standards
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and address technical issues and enhance system performance and reliability
- Working alongside the Product and Engineering teams to identify and execute process enhancements, including the adoption of new technologies and frameworks
- Mentoring other DevOps Engineers on the team and fostering technical skills development across the organization
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ DevOps experience, focused on Azure and container orchestration systems
- At least 1 year of leadership experience in software development teams, demonstrating excellent leadership skills
- Profound Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform experience
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, and Python
- Experience in implementing and maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Ability to work autonomously and lead a team in a remote environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Fluent in the English language with a minimum competency level of Upper-Intermediate for effective stakeholder communication
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack
- Experience with additional containerization technologies like Docker Swarm
