Lead DevOps Engineer

We seek a Lead DevOps Engineer, with a special focus on Microsoft Azure, to join our remote team.

The selected candidate will head the DevOps unit, overseeing overall development operations. Tasks will include automating infrastructure deployment and executing continuous integration and delivery practices. The role requires an experienced DevOps Engineer conversant with Microsoft Azure, container orchestration systems such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and deployment automation tools like Helm and Terraform. Duties will entail designing, conceptualizing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that augment our product offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Leading a DevOps team in managing the development operations pipeline
  • Automating infrastructure deployment
  • Implementing continuous integration and delivery practices
  • Designing scalable, highly reliable, and fault-tolerant systems on Microsoft Azure
  • Creating and maintaining deployment automation tools with Helm and Terraform
  • Providing technical leadership to the team ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and of top quality
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and enhance system performance and reliability
  • Working closely with Product and Engineering teams for process improvements and technology adoption
  • Mentoring DevOps Engineers, contributing to technical skill development across the organization
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of DevOps experience, focusing on Azure and container orchestration systems
  • At least 1 year of leading software development teams, featuring excellent leadership skills
  • Profound exposure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), along with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform skills
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, and Python
  • Experience in the implementation and maintenance of continuous integration and delivery pipelines
  • Independent work capacity and ability to lead a remote team
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work harmoniously with cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in English language, requiring at least an upper-intermediate competency for efficient communication with stakeholders
Nice to have
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack
  • Familiarity with additional containerization technologies like Docker Swarm
