We are looking for an experienced and detail-focused Lead Database Administrator to manage and optimize Oracle and SQL Server database environments.

This position emphasizes ensuring database reliability, scalability, and security while improving performance to meet evolving business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Administer Oracle and MSSQL Server databases to maintain availability and reliability
  • Configure and maintain database settings to align with organizational needs
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and system parameter adjustments
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions like Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and SQL Server Always On
  • Enforce compliance with data security standards and regulatory requirements
  • Automate manual processes using scripting tools and develop monitoring solutions via SQL Developer, OEM/Grid, Foglight, and OCI Console
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure database configurations meet application requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and operational issues effectively
  • Maintain detailed documentation for database architecture, processes, and configurations
  • Support complex database migrations and version upgrades in enterprise environments
  • Manage reliable backup and recovery procedures to protect critical information
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to enhance team capabilities
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as an Oracle and MSSQL Server Database Administrator in enterprise environments
  • Background in Oracle (19c), Exadata, RAC, and Data Guard; familiarity with ASM and PL/SQL scripting
  • Expertise in MSSQL features, including Always On, Clustering, Replication, SSIS, and SSRS
  • Familiarity with database tools such as SQL Developer, OEM/Grid, Foglight, and OCI Console
  • Competency in replication methods for high availability, including tools like Quest Shareplex and Oracle Data Guard
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Capability to work effectively in fast-paced settings, either independently or in teams, with on-call responsibilities
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of MongoDB, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Qlik, Kafka, Informatica, or Databricks
  • Background in using ServiceNow for incident management and resolution
  • Flexibility to use diverse data tools and frameworks beyond Oracle and MSSQL
