Join our Tech Data Services Oracle team as a Lead Database Administrator.
You will oversee the implementation and support of Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Additionally, you will play an integral role in enhancing features across supported platforms. If you're looking to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Oracle database availability and response time by diagnosing and resolving issues in a high-availability multi-datacenter environment
- Monitor performance and address availability challenges to maintain seamless database operations
- Resolve issues promptly and effectively during standard work hours
- Configure and deploy business-critical databases based on requirements from application development teams and business stakeholders
- Adhere to audit, security, and regulatory standards to ensure compliance
- Provide DBA support for complex software installations and upgrades, including major updates
- Safeguard the integrity, security, and privacy of sensitive business data
- Support solutions for data replication, backup, and high availability
- Develop and configure new capabilities for supported platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as an enterprise Oracle DBA
- Strong knowledge of Oracle 19C on VMware and Exadata
- Background in using Oracle Real Application Clusters
- Experience with Linux, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and Oracle ASM
- Familiarity with tools such as SQL Developer, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Toad, and Foglight
- Proficiency in database and SQL tuning techniques as well as database patching
- Expertise in physical and logical replication approaches, including disk-level replication and Oracle Data Guard
- Understanding of MongoDB and SQL, plus willingness to expand knowledge in these areas
- Competency in written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Understanding of Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Knowledge of Qlik and Kafka
- Familiarity with Informatica, Databricks, or Starburst
