We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Software Engineer to join our remote team, working on a project for a German logistics company that provides courier, package delivery, and express mail service, delivering over 1.8 billion parcels per year. In this role, you will lead a team of data software engineers to design, develop and maintain scalable data solutions that meet the company's business needs. Responsibilities
- Lead a team of data software engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that meet the company's business needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze data requirements, design data models, and develop data integration solutions
- Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of data solutions by implementing industry best practices
- Create, maintain and improve data pipelines to facilitate accurate and efficient data transfers
- Participate in the development of project plans, timelines and budgets
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Data Software Engineering role
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role
- Expertise in Python programming
- Comprehensive understanding of Data Modeling concepts and techniques
- Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake and other cloud-based data warehousing solutions
- Strong command of SQL and experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
- Fluent English language skills with an Upper-Intermediate level
Nice to have
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and Kafka
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
