We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Software Engineer to join our remote team, working on a project for a German logistics company that provides courier, package delivery, and express mail service, delivering over 1.8 billion parcels per year. In this role, you will lead a team of data software engineers to design, develop and maintain scalable data solutions that meet the company's business needs. Responsibilities

Lead a team of data software engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that meet the company's business needs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze data requirements, design data models, and develop data integration solutions
Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of data solutions by implementing industry best practices
Create, maintain and improve data pipelines to facilitate accurate and efficient data transfers
Participate in the development of project plans, timelines and budgets
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Data Software Engineering role
At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role
Expertise in Python programming
Comprehensive understanding of Data Modeling concepts and techniques
Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake and other cloud-based data warehousing solutions
Strong command of SQL and experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
Fluent English language skills with an Upper-Intermediate level

Nice to have

Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and Kafka
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
