We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Data Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to developing advanced technology solutions for Investment operations, including trade processes, accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and related activities.
This role emphasizes application integration with the Investments Accounting Book of Record (SimCorp Dimension) while utilizing strong skills in data engineering, cloud technologies, and financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Define technical requirements for data-driven solutions in collaboration with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Subject Matter Experts
- Create, maintain, and refine software applications using advanced technology stacks
- Ensure seamless capturing, transformation, and delivery of financial data through integration processes
- Demonstrate business value and solution outcomes to stakeholders during sprint showcases
- Drive iterative product delivery within Agile scrum team environments
- Program views, stored procedures, and functions using SQL to address complex data workflows
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like BitBucket/GitHub and Bamboo
- Incorporate reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau to elevate business intelligence capabilities
- Improve and support data warehousing and Dimensional Modeling methods such as Kimball
- Utilize cloud platform technologies, preferably AWS, for efficient data processing and orchestration
- Design scalable ETL workflows using Python and relevant libraries like Pandas and NumPy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
- Skills in SQL for creating views, stored procedures, and managing data workflows
- Background in working with cloud platforms like AWS, including S3, Glue, Athena, and Lambda services
- Proficiency in Python for developing ETL workflows and testing with libraries like Pandas/NumPy and unit testing frameworks
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines implemented through tools like BitBucket/GitHub and Bamboo
- Competency in data warehousing, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Extraction Utilities
- Background in Agile software development practices, including story sizing, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Nice to have
- Knowledge of financial systems and reporting, particularly in investment accounting or general ledger contexts
- Proficiency in integrating large-scale financial investment/ERP systems like SimCorp Dimension or related platforms
- Skills in agile development and implementation of data solutions using AWS resources, Snowflake, and orchestration tools
- Familiarity with advanced data integration technologies such as SnapLogic, Rest APIs, and pipeline orchestration methods
- Expertise in creating interactive dashboards and producing advanced reporting using Power BI
