Lead Cloud Security Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen and direct the security framework of our infrastructure at Europe’s leading online restaurant reservation platform.

As a paramount figure within the Security team, you will be charged with creating, deploying, and managing secure cloud-based solutions to power our SaaS offerings and high-traffic B2C interfaces. Responsibilities
  • Oversee and guide engineering teams in the design and implementation of cloud-based security solutions
  • Design secure DevOps methodologies for hybrid cloud environments
  • Lead efforts to embed security protocols within the development lifecycle
  • Develop reusable, secure Infrastructure as Code components
  • Manage and maintain security tools and resources
  • Direct the evaluation of security alerts, prioritize issues, and lead resolution strategies
  • Mentor teams in tackling complex security challenges in cloud configurations
  • Create and monitor processes for timely security alerts and remediation
  • Facilitate advanced training on new cloud initiatives for various teams
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or DevOps engineer, with a background in Linux, Apache/Nginx, Varnish, Node.js/PHP for high-demand websites
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Terraform
  • Extensive knowledge of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code practices
  • Advanced expertise in AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Skills in scripting languages including Bash, Python, or Ruby
  • Capability to anticipate security needs and contribute to platform enhancement
  • Rigorous, dynamic, curious, and collaborative personality traits
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and expanding skill sets within teams
  • Showcase of effective communication in English across international teams
Nice to have
  • Background in building secure network connections across cloud accounts
  • Understanding of variations in cloud networking solutions in AWS and Azure
  • Capability to perform in-depth technical security assessments and lead remediation efforts
  • Familiarity with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Proficiency in distinguishing core differences across major cloud provider services and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, and AWS
  • Knowledge of tools including ELK, Prometheus, Istio, Jenkins, and Github Actions
  • Qualifications in leadership, communication, and collaboration, with a passion for supporting cross-functional teams like DevOps
