We are looking for an accomplished Lead Cloud Platform Engineer with deep expertise in AWS Cloud, CI/CD, Python, and Bash scripting to lead our innovative team.

As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you will take a critical leadership role in architecting, scaling, and optimizing an enterprise-grade self-service platform that empowers development teams and drives innovation throughout the organization. By leveraging your extensive experience in AWS technologies, automation, and CI/CD pipelines, you will guide teams, ensure adherence to best practices, and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and management of a robust, scalable self-service SDLC platform leveraging AWS, Python, and Bash scripting
  • Architect and implement integrations with multiple AWS serverless and PaaS services to enhance development, testing, and deployment workflows
  • Promote and develop infrastructure-as-code automation using tools like CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, and SAM to ensure rapid scaling and consistency
  • Define, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bamboo CI or Jenkins to enable enterprise-level deployments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical leadership in shaping platform solutions
  • Establish, enforce, and evangelize best practices for AWS, CI/CD, and Python and Bash development across teams
  • Monitor actively platform security, performance, and availability, ensuring alignment with compliance and operational standards
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to keep platform offerings cutting-edge and aligned with organizational goals
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance, code reviews, and career development support
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align platform goals with the organization’s vision and strategy
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, inspiring innovation, and driving accountability within the engineering team
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in cloud platform engineering with advanced expertise in AWS Cloud, CI/CD, Python, and Bash scripting
  • At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecting, deploying, and managing AWS services integrated with enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines
  • Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and Big-O time complexity, with a proven ability to solve complex problems in live coding scenarios
  • Extensive experience with CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, and Serverless Application Model (SAM) for infrastructure automation
  • Proven track record of configuring, optimizing, and maintaining CI/CD systems like Bamboo CI, Jenkins, or alternative tools in large-scale environments
  • Exceptional Python and Bash scripting skills, showcased through real-world implementations of scalable and reliable solutions
  • Strong experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and related orchestration workflows
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, resolve challenging technical issues, and drive collaborative problem-solving
  • Flexibility to provide leadership and accommodate time overlap with global teams between 9-11 AM CST
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, at a B2+ level or higher
Nice to have
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or DevOps Engineer Professional certification
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining large-scale self-service platforms for enterprise use
  • Strong working knowledge of additional cloud platforms, such as Azure, and experience managing multi-cloud deployments
