Currently, we are looking for a Remote Lead Cloud Platform Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Work with the different software development and engineering teams to identify optimization opportunities to reduce AWS DB Services costs
- Work to fully understand the client’s product and the way it is architected and deployed in the cloud, and the associated costs for each portion of the environmen
- Analyze schemas and applications to determine the most appropriate strategies and architectures for databases cost-saving and performance boost:
- Determine DB Instance Type and Usage, DB engine type
- Right-Sizing Database Instance
- Right-Sizing Database Storage
- Determine DB Instance Performance
- DB Instance tuning to reduce CPU, Memory and IO utilization
- Storage AutoScaling
- Reducing Retention Period
- Disable Multi-AZ when not required
- Changing the database region
- Stopping and starting database engines
- Enabling Data Caching
- Maximise Reserved Instances utilization
- Opt for Reserved Instances/Savings Plan
- Removing manual snapshots
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Cloud Platform Developer
- 1+ years of leadership experience
- Experience with AWS Database Engineer or similar role is required
- Experience with AWS cloud services, relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with writing good quality database functional code: stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other code objects
- Knowledge of storage systems, and distributed systems
- Knowledge of database migration software and technologies
- Knowledge of at least one of AWS DB (RDS) Services: PostgreSQL, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL
