EPAM is a leading global provider of digital platform engineering and software development services, with two offices in Switzerland (Zurich, Geneva).

We're looking for a Lead Application Engineer – Commercial & Origination Portfolio to join our team in Lausanne, Switzerland, in an on-site working mode. This role provides technical leadership for a critical application portfolio supporting customer-facing sales, origination and contract pricing systems. By shaping architecture, guiding delivery teams and ensuring strategic alignment, you will play a key role in driving digital transformation and operational excellence for the client.

Responsibilities
  • Act as senior technical authority for the commercial and origination application portfolio
  • Develop and govern application architecture and technology choices within defined design principles
  • Lead Build and Run teams managing priorities, quality and risk
  • Maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders across IT and business functions
  • Provide technical governance through design reviews and standards enforcement
  • Support portfolio investment decisions with technical input on effort, risks and solution options
  • Own escalation for high-impact incidents and delivery risks within the portfolio
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in application engineering or solution architecture
  • Proven leadership of combined Build and Run teams
  • Expertise in application and integration architecture with cloud experience (AWS) and modern web/backend stacks
  • Strong ability in stakeholder management and governance within an outsourced delivery model
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Fluent English; French and/or German preferred
  • Availability to work full-time on-site in Switzerland
Nice to have
  • Experience with SaaS integration
  • Familiarity with risk and pricing applications
