We're looking for a Lead Application Architect – Commercial & Origination Portfolio to join our team in Lausanne, Switzerland, in an on-site working mode. You will support a major European company across more than 10 countries. The project brings the client’s application services under one managed services partner, covering both production operations (Run) and change delivery (Build).
As senior technical lead, you will shape the architecture of customer-facing sales, origination and contract pricing applications, built on both custom code and SaaS solutions. You will guide agile delivery teams across Switzerland, Spain and India and align technical direction with the client’s commercial goals. The role follows business hours, with extended support around releases, go-lives and market deadlines.
- Act as senior technical authority for the commercial and origination application portfolio
- Define and govern application architecture and technology choices in line with client design principles
- Lead Build and Run teams, managing priorities, quality and capacity
- Own relationships with senior client stakeholders across IT and commercial leadership
- Ensure technical governance through design reviews, standards adherence and technical debt management
- Support business cases for portfolio investments with effort, risk and option analysis
- Manage escalations for high-impact incidents and delivery risks within the portfolio
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in application engineering or solution architecture
- Strong background in energy markets and trading applications
- Proven leadership of combined Build and Run teams
- Expertise in solution, application and integration architecture
- Practical knowledge of AWS, web services and modern web/backend stacks
- Strong stakeholder management and technical governance skills in an outsourced delivery model
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Fluent English, with French or German strongly preferred
- Experience with SaaS integration
- Hands-on experience with full-stack JavaScript or Python
- Familiarity with risk and pricing applications
