Lead Android Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Android Developer to join our team and help shape the future of an innovative TV technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with industry experts, design cutting-edge solutions, and take ownership of end-to-end Android development for a groundbreaking product.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with EPAM SME and Solution Architect to identify skillsets needed for POD
  • Review project scope and provide technical guidance during the development process
  • Support the development of a dual-display TV from scratch, integrating TV inputs (tuner and media player) into the Android framework
  • Build Android images and manage the full lifecycle of Android development, including bootloaders
  • Debug and resolve system-level, multi-component issues, from kernel to application and Trust Zone to user space
  • Troubleshoot profile performance problems and drive optimizations that span the entire software stack
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Android development
  • At least 1 year of experience in leading software development teams, demonstrating strong leadership skills
  • Expertise in Android OS, Android TV, and Android NDK & SDK
  • Proficiency in Kotlin
  • Knowledge of Embedded Linux
  • Competency in JNI and IPC mechanisms
  • Experience using modern C++/C or Java standards libraries
  • Familiarity with Linux kernel customization, as well as building and customizing drivers (e.g., DTBO, Bluetooth, WiFi)
  • Background in using Android or Linux performance tools and understanding of security models
  • Upper-intermediate or higher level of spoken and written English
Nice to have
  • Expertise in media compression, DRM, and streaming technologies
  • Background in hardware-software integration for consumer electronics
