Lead Android Developer

We are in search of a remote Lead Android Developer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, designing, creating, modifying, and/or testing software applications or systems for various mobile software services. Working closely with product and design teams, you will build new and innovative application experiences for the Android platform, implementing custom native user interfaces using the latest Android programming techniques and development tools.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software applications or systems for various mobile software services
  • Work closely with product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences for the Android platform
  • Implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Android programming techniques and development tools
  • Build reusable Android software components for interfacing with our back-end platforms
  • Analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance
  • Work independently on medium to large features without guidance
  • Identify and drive changes as needed for assigned codebase, product area, or systems
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in building complex applications for Android phones and tablets 
  • 1+ year of relevant leadership experience
  • Experience in building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques
  • Experience in both Java and Kotlin
  • Knowledge of Android SDK
  • Proficiency in multithreading programming and mobile memory management
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, Linux or Unix, and algorithms
  • Knowledge of client-server communication patterns such as REST, GraphQL, gRPC
  • Familiarity with mobile architecture patterns like MVVM, VIPER, modularization, and dependency injection
  • B2+ English level proficiency
Nice to have
  • Experience of development for wearable devices is a big advantage
  • Knowledge of React Native
  • Experience with Litho and Yoga
