We are seeking a Lead AI Factory Engineer to direct, constrain, and verify fleets of AI agents in order to produce shipped, correct, and maintainable code at speed without sacrificing quality. In this role, you will treat software as the product and agents as tools in your workshop, holding architectural judgment, ownership of design trade-offs, and accountability for correctness across every output.
Responsibilities
- Decompose work into specs and tasks that agents can execute, including planner, implementer, reviewer, and tester sub-agents
- Supervise agent output by reading diffs, challenging decisions, and stepping in when an agent drifts from intent
- Build verification into every loop, incorporating tests, linters, type checks, and review agents before anything is trusted
- Define acceptance criteria to validate agent-generated work prior to integration
- Own architectural decisions, design tradeoffs, and correctness while agents handle code generation
- Perform the work by hand when needed to identify when an agent's output is wrong
- Tune the personal, lightweight factory setup continuously based on daily use
- Measure success through shipped repos, defects caught, throughput, and overall code quality
- Report on specs, tests, review outcomes, and production metrics to demonstrate factory performance
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on coding and architectural design
- Proficiency in orchestrating multi-agent workflows, including planner, implementer, reviewer, and tester sub-agents
- Expertise in building and maintaining verification pipelines, including tests, linters, and type checks
- Background in reviewing code diffs, challenging automated decisions, and correcting agent drift
- Understanding of software architecture, design tradeoffs, and correctness principles
- Skills in defining acceptance criteria and quality gates for automated or AI-assisted development
- Capability to write and ship production code independently without relying on agents
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
