Junior Networking Engineer

We are looking for a driven and proactive Junior Networking Engineer to join our dynamic team.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and networking and who thrives in a fast-paced environment supporting global customers with our cutting-edge Cloud Platform products.

Responsibilities
  • Support customers using Cloud Platform products, including Google Compute Engine and related services
  • Provide technical assistance as part of a 24x5 global support organization
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Product Managers to enhance the product
  • Manage change requests and incident tickets for Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management
  • Follow notification and escalation protocols
  • Maintain standards for communication with the business regarding operational issues
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Networking Engineer or in a combined role with Sysadmin
  • Proficiency in Linux/UNIX, Windows Server
  • Knowledge of web and mail protocols such as HTTP, TLS, SMTP
  • Experience with network protocols and technologies, including TCP, UDP, and HTTP/HTTPS
  • Background in routing protocols and network technologies like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VRRP, IP, HSRP, MPLS
  • Understanding of network security practices, including firewall policies, VPN, and IPSEC
  • Skills in shell scripting and familiarity with VMs such as Google Compute Engine, VMware, Amazon EC2
  • Capability to set up monitoring, conduct performance audits, and optimization
  • Strong understanding of administrative tasks, including user accounts and access control
  • Experience troubleshooting with network tools like traceroute, iperf, tcproute
  • Familiarity with common Linux troubleshooting tools like vmstat, iostat, lsof, strace
  • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes and software development methodologies
  • Ability to design, deploy, follow, explain, and enhance ITIL/ITSM processes
  • Strong business ownership and customer focus
