We are looking for a Junior Mainframe Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our core banking and enterprise systems. In this role, you will work with COBOL and a range of mainframe technologies within an agile, collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to grow their skills while working on mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications (both online and batch)
- Work with CICS, VSAM, and JCL to support and enhance mainframe systems
- Manage job scheduling and automation using Control-M
- Participate in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within an Agile (Scrum) framework
- Track and manage tasks and workflows using Jira
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience as a Mainframe/COBOL Developer
- Hands-on knowledge of COBOL (online and batch)
- Experience with CICS, VSAM, and JCL
- Familiarity with Control-M for job scheduling
- Proven experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum
- Understanding of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices, ideally supported by Jira
- English skills at an A2 level or above
Nice to have
- Experience with VAX systems
- Knowledge of the Altamira core banking platform
- Experience using ChangeMan for source code version control and change management
