We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Geophysicist (Geologist) to join our team.
This position is ideal for recent graduates or last-year students specializing in Geology or Geophysics who possess strong skills in processing seismic images. As a Junior Geophysicist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing geological data to aid in exploration and production activities.
Responsibilities
- Annotate and interpret seismic images accurately
- Work independently using your own hardware and software tools
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
- Solve complex geological problems using analytical and critical thinking skills
- Adapt to new project requirements and changes in data analysis strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and quality
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field
- Proficiency in Python, image processing, and annotating seismic images
- Recently graduated or last-year student with high marks in Geology or Geophysics
- Comfortable with IT tools such as Microsoft Office, GIS software, and geophysical modeling tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Capacity to mentor and guide less experienced team members
- Adaptable to changing project requirements and objectives
- Experience with seismic interpretation software, Petrel, Kingdom Suite
- Knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry, geological survey methods, and data acquisition techniques
- Advanced English communication skills at B2 level
