We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of high-quality backend solutions. In this role, you will focus on coding, documenting, and testing backend services while working with modern technologies and agile methodologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer eager to grow their skills in a cloud-based, microservices-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and test backend software components with a strong focus on code quality and reliability
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable, distributed systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams following agile development practices
  • Implement solutions leveraging cloud technologies, primarily on AWS
  • Contribute to automated development lifecycles using DevOps tools and best practices
  • Ensure application performance, monitoring, and observability using tools such as AWS CloudWatch
  • Apply established design patterns to create clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in backend software development
  • Solid knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience developing and exposing REST/JSON services
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of API-based integration and microservices architecture
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with cloud development on AWS (e.g., EC2)
  • Familiarity with development tools and automated DevOps workflows
  • Working knowledge of version control (Git) and code quality tools (Sonar, Artifactory)
  • Understanding of authentication and security standards such as JWT/JWS
  • English level: B1 or higher (both spoken and written)
Nice to have
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Knowledge of AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and logging
  • Strong grasp of design patterns and best practices
  • Residence in Medellín or its metropolitan area
