Java Software Developer – Java 8, Spring Boot, Microservices, ReactJS

We are looking for a motivated Java Software Developer with experience in Java 8, Spring Boot, Microservices, and ReactJS to join our team.

As a Full Stack Java Developer, you will be responsible for migrating front-end screens from Java Swing, as well as supporting the backend Java code.

You will work closely with the client's development team to ensure a seamless transition and deliver an enhanced user experience for institutional buy-side clients.

Responsibilities

Anticipated 70% of time dedicated to Java backend development + 30% of time dedicated to front-end development
Make changes to the Java backend to support the migration of the front-end and add new capabilities
Assist in the migration of user interface components from Java Swing, including Java backend development to ensure consistency, functionality, and performance
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
Engage with our financial services client to gather requirements, provide updates, and incorporate feedback into the development process
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following best practices and coding standards
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of migrated components to ensure they meet functional and performance criteria
Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimizing the application for speed and responsiveness
Maintain detailed documentation of the development process, including migration plans, technical specifications, and user guides

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in backend Java and frontend (React or Angular) development, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
Proficiency in backend Java and any of the following: React, Angular, or TypeScript; experience with RESTful APIs
Proven experience in migrating applications from Java Swing or similar technologies to modern JavaScript frameworks, which is highly desirable
Financial services knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere

Nice to have

Relevant certifications in Java, React or Angular
