Find me a jobWe are looking for an Integration Technical Owner who combines the skills of a Product Owner, Business Analyst, and Architect to support our journey in Loyalty Platform Modernization.
Our customer, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, USA, manages one of the world's top-3 hotel networks and the largest Loyalty program in the Hospitality industry. This Loyalty Program runs on a large in-house platform built by EPAM between 2008–2013 and is now being modernized with the migration of most capabilities to Salesforce.
As the Loyalty Platform is the core of the customer's tech ecosystem, managing integrations properly, understanding their complexity, and making future-looking decisions is absolutely critical for the success of the whole program.
This role involves extensive communication with various stakeholders and requires regular overlap with US East Coast working hours until 12:00 PM EST (6:00 PM CET), with occasional meetings until 1:00 PM EST (7:00 PM CET).
- Define, groom, evolve, and supervise all integrations with the customer's Loyalty Platform — essentially owning integrations as a product
- Create integration-related User Stories and distribute them among 2–3 teams engaged in modernization (note there is no dedicated "integration team")
- Design API contracts (with assistance from architects if needed) and integration flows
- Refine and plan stories with teams, assist with any questions, and validate and accept stories per acceptance criteria
- Ensure stories are well written and contain enough technical direction to build good integrations, while leaving room for development teams to make the right implementation decisions
- Participate in architecture, design, and business meetings to determine what is needed from an integration perspective, actively listening and contributing to design discussions
- Challenge and question architects as needed, rather than waiting to be asked to document integrations
- Produce output artifacts such as user stories, sequence/flow diagrams, and API contracts
- Balance the right scope of deliverables within a sprint and build upon them iteratively as the program progresses
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Background in integration and middleware concepts, with strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and events, including API design
- Familiarity with integration platforms such as Apigee, Kafka, and MuleSoft (deep expertise not required, but hands-on experience with at least one and understanding of others is essential)
- Strong technical mindset and aptitude, without necessarily being a developer or architect
- Proficiency in Agile methodology, with the ability to balance the right size of deliverables within a sprint
- Understanding of when to step back and let developers own the actual implementation
- Capability to act as a self-starter, taking ownership and initiative without being explicitly asked
- Curiosity and desire to continuously learn new platforms and technologies as the ecosystem evolves
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders across time zones; C1-level English
