We are looking for a passionate and experienced Game Tester to join our team and support the successful transition of PC game titles to mobile platforms.
In this role, you will work closely with the QA Lead and a team of testers to ensure seamless gameplay and an engaging user experience. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with one of EPAM's long-standing gaming partners and contribute to high-impact mobile gaming projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of game mechanics, progression systems, and configuration parameters
- Perform detailed test cases to assess gameplay, performance, and features specific to mobile platforms
- Identify, log, and track bugs, providing clear and actionable information to the development team
- Collaborate with the QA Lead to organize and prioritize testing tasks to meet deadlines
- Conduct thorough testing of game builds on mobile devices, including functionality, compatibility, performance, and usability assessments
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to game builds, installations, and configurations
- Provide feedback on gameplay mechanics, controls, and user experience to improve game quality
- Share expertise within the team and mentor junior testers when necessary
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of test plans and test cases for the project
- Stay informed about project developments and communicate potential risks or challenges to the QA Lead
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing, with a preference for game testing experience
- Strong understanding of testing processes, defect tracking, and quality assurance methodologies
- Practical experience installing and testing game builds on mobile devices
- Ability to evaluate game mechanics and provide actionable feedback on gameplay and user experience
- Experience documenting and managing bugs using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and quality control practices
- A passion for gaming, with experience playing a variety of genres and titles
- High attention to detail with a focus on accurately identifying and documenting issues
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently under the guidance of the QA Lead
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with testers, developers, and the QA Lead
- Adaptable and quick to learn new tools, workflows, and game mechanics
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and suggest solutions for technical challenges
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Previous experience in game testing or mobile game development
- Basic knowledge of game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, or experience with scripting tools
- ISTQB certification or a similar quality assurance qualification
