We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Swiftype product infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role involves on-call duties and continuous integration and deployment processes.
Responsibilities
- Address gem vulnerabilities by upgrading dependencies based on Snyk reports
- Migrate Jenkins instances to Buildkite
- Upgrade Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis to newer versions
- Transition CentOS7 servers to Rocky Linux
- Conduct weekly OS package security upgrades
- Support and maintain the infrastructure including 24/7 on-call responsibilities
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline operations
- Collaborate with other team members remotely and maintain strong written communication
- Demonstrate flexibility in managing multiple projects and adapting to new challenges
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering
- Expertise in the Ruby on Rails ecosystem or extensive experience in software development and maintenance of a SaaS infrastructure
- Proficiency in Linux systems engineering
- Competency in Infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or configuration management tools such as Chef
- Background in continuous integration and deployment practices
- Capability to manage on-call duties effectively
- Strong written communication skills with remote work experience
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Elastic Stack
- Understanding of Nagios
- Knowledge of MySQL and MongoDB databases
- Skills in managing Jenkins CI/CD tool
- Experience with Graphite monitoring tool
