We are seeking a skilled Data Software Engineer to support our client's initiative to upgrade their BI infrastructure by adopting the Lakehouse paradigm. In this hybrid role, you will play a key part in migrating the existing BI estate to a modern Lakehouse architecture built on Databricks technology hosted on MS Azure, enabling real-time data ingestion through Spark Streaming and reading Kafka feeds.
Please note that working from the customer's office is required 1 day per week.
Responsibilities
- Migrate the existing SSRS reports to Power BI, ensure functional and data consistency
- Design, build and maintain data pipelines supporting Power BI reporting and analytics
- Support testing, validation and optimization of migrated data and reporting solutions
- Design and implement real-time data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark Streaming on Azure Databricks
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data software engineering
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka and Azure Databricks
- Skills in Apache Spark Streaming and real-time data ingestion pipelines
- Expertise in designing, building and maintaining data pipelines
- Familiarity with Power BI and SSRS report migration
- Understanding of the Lakehouse architecture paradigm and MS Azure
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
