We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Native Application Development SME to support delivery within the team.
This role is suited for an experienced, self-directed software engineer who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, take ownership of outcomes, solve ambiguous problems, and deliver working solutions with minimal day-to-day oversight. Once objectives and constraints are clear, you are expected to independently drive work to completion, proactively manage risks, and communicate progress and trade-offs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Own timelines and deliverables, proactively managing scope, dependencies, and execution risks
- Independently frame, design, and deliver software solutions by engaging stakeholders, clarifying ambiguous requirements, and challenging assumptions
- Build backend services and RESTful APIs aligned to those designs
- Develop cloud-native applications (AWS preferred)
- Implement workflow automation and data pipelines where needed
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD
- Ensure solutions are production-ready, including testing, documentation, and handover
- Act as a reliable execution partner, proactively communicating progress, trade-offs, risks, and changes in expectations
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with proven ownership and independent delivery without close supervision
- Background in consulting, advisory, or client-facing project and client relationship delivery
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to frame and solve problems in ambiguous situations
- Competency in communication and stakeholder management, including proactive expectation management
- Showcase of Gen AI assisted development tools and practices as part of day-to-day software delivery
- Proficiency in Python within enterprise environments
- Expertise in building REST APIs and backend services
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-native application development
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing practices
- English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Familiarity with workflow automation and workflow orchestration
- Understanding of continuous integration development and maintenance (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Capability to use Terraform (infrastructure as code)
- Background in capital markets
