Cloud Engineering Management

We are seeking a Cloud Engineering Manager to guide and manage the creation and collaboration of cloud engineering teams, with typical team sizes ranging from 20 to 50 FTE.

In this role, you will align delivery to business and client goals, establish development and support processes from scratch, and integrate project metrics like RPO and RTO for effective operation.

You will conduct audits, drive growth in the discipline through mentoring, research, and accelerator innovation, and ensure direct interactions with clients, facilitating conflict resolutions, dependency management, and delivery visibility. Additionally, you will participate in pre-sales processes, create data-driven strategies, and represent the organization at industry events. A robust technical foundation and advanced qualifications in a leading cloud provider are required, with preference for those with multi-cloud capabilities.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage cloud engineering teams (20–50 FTE)
Establish development and support processes, integrating project metrics such as RPO and RTO
Conduct audits and ensure transparent delivery for stakeholders
Facilitate discipline growth through mentoring, R&D, and accelerator innovation
Engage directly with clients to resolve conflicts and manage dependencies
Support pre-sales efforts, including proposal development and customer presentations
Drive delivery based on data insights while ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Demonstrate proficiency in security, compliance, and well-architected cloud principles
Represent the organization at professional events, conferences, and meetups
Communicate complex technical ideas effectively to diverse audiences

Requirements

8+ years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in managerial roles
Advanced qualifications in a leading cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform); multi-cloud capabilities preferred
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD platforms, and containerization/orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of observability solutions, alongside competency in Site Reliability and Platform Engineering practices
Familiarity with system architecture and application of Well-Architected Framework principles
Expertise in cloud security best practices, identity management, compliance, and data protection
Showcase of managing 20-50 FTE teams, including the full people management cycle (hiring, onboarding, staffing, performance, succession planning, retention)
Background in pre-sales and proposal development (estimation, presentations, documentation)
Competency in delivery management and project coordination
English language skills at B2 level or higher

Understanding of system design and cloud maturity evaluation strategies
Background in consulting and business case analysis
Showcase of financial awareness and familiarity with engagement frameworks
Knowledge of market trends and domain consulting practices
Proficiency in mentoring and coaching with contributions to knowledge-sharing programs
Familiarity with Generative AI and prompt engineering capabilities
Experience in research, development, and accelerator innovation
