We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to drive the technical and functional strategy of VMware to AWS migration programs across complex enterprise environments. The successful candidate will lead architecture design, oversee technical governance and coordinate distributed multidisciplinary teams while acting as the main point of contact between clients, architecture, engineering and operations teams to ensure the achievement of technical, functional and commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of the solution architecture for VMware to AWS migration programs
- Define the migration strategy, wave planning and acceptance criteria for each project phase
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, infrastructure specialists, network engineers, database engineers, security experts and DevOps engineers
- Oversee the technical execution of migrations to ensure quality, stability and adherence to established timelines
- Establish Landing Zone, Disaster Recovery and hybrid connectivity architectures between on-premises and AWS environments
- Manage technical risks, dependencies and mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle
- Act as the main technical point of contact with clients, vendors and global teams
- Ensure compliance with security standards, cloud governance and AWS Well-Architected Framework best practices
- Drive the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation processes
- Promote continuous improvement of the migration factory through productivity, quality and throughput indicators
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related field with over 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture and technology transformation, including at least 3 years leading AWS migration programs in complex enterprise environments
- Expertise in AWS, the AWS Well-Architected Framework and EC2
- Proficiency in VPC, IAM and CloudFormation/Terraform
- Skills in AWS MGN, ECS/ECR and RDS
- Knowledge of Local Zones, migration factories and runbooks automation
- Advanced proficiency in Terraform along with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Python scripting, Docker and the ECS Anywhere to ECS Fargate/EC2 transition
- Knowledge of RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), DMS and MongoDB
- Understanding of VPN, Direct Connect and Transit Gateway
- Knowledge of Security Groups, NACLs and DR architectures
- Expertise in sync scheduling, RPO/RTO and FinOps
- Experience in VMware to AWS Migration

- Familiarity with Kubernetes (EKS)
