We are in search of a proficient Chief DevOps Engineer with expertise in Azure to become part of our energetic team.
The perfect candidate will manage the development, deployment, and maintenance of our cloud-based infrastructure, focusing on its scalability, security, and reliability.
This position demands a forward-thinking individual with a robust technical foundation and superior leadership abilities to promote innovation and enhance our DevOps methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and deployment of Azure cloud infrastructure prioritizing scalability, security, and reliability
- Direct the development and upkeep of CI/CD pipelines to facilitate automated code deployment
- Administer Kubernetes clusters, including their setup, configuration, and deployment
- Enhance system performance through Azure Log Analytics and additional monitoring tools
- Work closely with development teams to align DevOps strategies with business objectives
- Uphold security best practices and standards
- Craft and sustain disaster recovery and fault-tolerant systems
- Offer mentorship and leadership to junior DevOps team members
- Keep abreast of new DevOps tools and technologies
- Lead the troubleshooting and solving of system issues
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) in a relevant discipline
- At least 7 years of related work experience in cloud-based DevOps
- Prior leadership roles within a DevOps setting
- Demonstrated expertise in Azure cloud services and infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of DevOps principles including security, scalability, and reliability
- Skilled in cloud-based software-defined networking design
- Knowledgeable in fault-tolerant infrastructure design using regions and availability zones
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell
- Skilled in programming languages like JavaScript, Ruby, Python, PHP, or C#
- Acquainted with real-time monitoring and analytics platforms like Azure Log Analytics or Splunk
- Understanding of databases such as Microsoft SQL or MySQL
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Results-oriented with dependable follow-through
- Fluent in English with B2+ communication skills
Nice to have
- Certifications in Azure or other cloud technologies
- Experience with container orchestration technologies like Docker
- Familiarity with additional monitoring tools such as New Relic or Datadog
