Skills required for DevOps Architect job
Hard skills a DevOps Architect shouldn’t miss:
- Hands-on experience as an infrastructure/production DevOps, proven ability to manage and monitor an infrastructure
- Proven experience in architecting and maintaining containerization and virtualization platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
- Practical knowledge of top-tier cloud services like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI/CD
- Strong knowledge of DevOps automatization tools, e.g., Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
- Experience with infrastructure tools, e.g., Terraform
- Degree in Computer Science or related field is often a requirement
Optional, but so advantageous:
- Knowledge of network stack, protocols, network management, and monitoring tools
- Understanding of security threats (DDOS, Cross-Origin Request Forgery, Injections, etc.)
