We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and lead the delivery of innovative and scalable data solutions.

In this role, you will oversee technical teams, design system architectures, and make significant contributions to projects solving complex data challenges. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical foundation, excellent leadership capabilities, and a dedication to mentoring and innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architectures
Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows to ensure data quality and accessibility
Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams
Enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability
Establish technical best practices and ensure high-quality code delivery
Conduct code reviews and participate in technical discussions
Support pre-sales activities, client engagements, and SWAT team efforts
Facilitate knowledge sharing and contribute to meetups and technical talks
Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate innovative solutions

Requirements

A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
At least two years of leadership experience in team management and project oversight
Participation in two or more full-cycle projects or multiple phases of development lifecycles
Proven expertise in coding and solving complex technical issues
Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation
Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud-based data systems
Experience with Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning workflows
Strong skills in system design and architecture, combining high-level vision with detailed execution
A history of delivering substantial technical impact within projects and organizations
Broad knowledge across multiple technical domains and stacks
A mindset committed to mentoring and sharing knowledge within teams and the broader community
A record of innovation, including the introduction of new tools, frameworks, or methodologies
Flexibility to adapt across programming languages, technical stacks, and domains
Fluent communication in English at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

Competency in real-time data processing and streaming technologies
Expertise in advanced machine learning and AI frameworks
Familiarity with serverless computing solutions for data workflows
